About Ornament
Ornament is a Los Angeles based band that wrote and recorded original music from 1997 to 2003. They blended musical genres of psychedelic rock (Pink Floyd/Radiohead), post-punk (Cocteau Twins/Blondie) and trip-hop (Portishead/Tricky). The lyrics and seductive voice of Kim conveyed the dilemmas between love vs. commitment, and indulgence vs. loss.
Kim Jordan (Singer) Mark Henderson (Keyboards) and Jonny Edwards (Guitar) are the founding members and principle songwriters. They were thought of as one of LA's best kept secrets. Ornament signed recoding contracts with Reprise Records, Radioactive Records and MCA/Universal. They lived and rehearsed in an infamously secluded house on top of Lauren Canyon that was rumored to be haunted. They performed at underground parties, for musical VIPs (Rick Rubin, Tony Ferguson, Josh Abraham, Andy Gill, Danny Saber, John XS) were regulars at Hollywood's Viper Room and gigged various venues such as The Whiskey a GoGo, The Troubadour, and Billboard Live. Their music embraced wide dynamic range bridging dark melodies with driving and chorus'.
